Tumblr is specifically designed to stop people from having discussions. It’s terrible.
Yeah, but it also seems that some of the users don’t help things.
Fair enough. I’m not really convinced that Nintendo going 3rd party would be better for them. Just convinced it would be better for me.
And that was the whole point I was making. As a consumer, sure if I only have to buy 2 consoles instead of 3, it’s easier and far cheaper for me. But that isn’t necessarily the basis I would use to make a major business decision, which is what this would be.
but since a)third party sales don’t bring in much on Nintendo consoles and b) multiple platforms will bring in huge numbers of people that wouldn’t have previously bought their games it could easily balance out.
1)The first is factually incorrect. For most of this gen, Wii had more 3rd party software sale than either of the other two consoles. It actually still has better 3rd party sales than the Ps3.. or close at least in the States. B) Is in theory. There isn’t a single title this gen on Ps3/360 combined that has sold better than Nintendo’s best selling titles or either the Wii or the DS. Logically it makes sense, but the evidence doesn’t point in that direction. I guess gonna need to make a larger post at some point. Don’t get me wrong, Nintendo has some faults, but going 3rd party never seems grounded in THAT reasoning.
